Chainmonsters, a game inspired by Pokemon, has unfortunately announced a pause in its development, which is bittersweet news for its fans. Despite the excitement around the play-to-earn boom of 2021, not all games have been able to sustain their momentum.
Chainmonsters had a successful Genesis sale in 2021 but has struggled to secure additional venture capital funding and has relied solely on the proceeds from that initial sale. Unfortunately, the recent land sale did not go as planned, and the game’s servers can no longer be kept up and running, resulting in the official shutdown of the game. However, the Chainmonsters team remains optimistic about a potential comeback in the future, as they have backed up all the game and account progress. While it is a tough decision, the team deserves praise for being upfront about the pause in development, unlike other indie developers who disappear without a word. Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online RPG where players catch, battle, trade, and explore various monsters and abilities to create powerful chain reactions. The game is developed by B-Side Games and is playable on all available devices, including PC, MAC, Android, and iOS.
